Math Jam is open for Fall 2022

The hours for Math Jam for this semester are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, 5 – 7 pm.  The location is Exley 405.

Just as a reminder: Math Jam is additional resource (complementing professor office hours, class CA sessions, and the Math Workshop) for students studying mathematics at Wes. Math Jam works on a “study hall” model. Students are encouraged to come, on their own or in a group. There is plenty of space to study and tutors are standing by when questions arise.

An additional feature of Math Jam is that it is not limited to pure math questions alone. The tutors are able to assist with the “mathy” aspects of classes from other departments. The tutors present on Tuesday and Wednesday are well equipped to field intro-level questions in Economic, Physics, and Computer Science. The tutors on Thursday can also help with into Physics and Statistics, and have extensive experience tutoring for the QAC. All tutors are knowledgeable in the standard math calculus sequence (and much more).

The Math Workshop is Open for the Fall 2022 Semester

The Math Workshop is a drop-in tutoring service staffed by experienced undergraduates and math graduate students. Staff members provide a friendly, relaxed atmosphere while answering questions about mathematics. This is a good place to go when you get stuck on your math homework.

The hours and locations for the Math Workshop are below.

  • Mondays – Thursdays, 11:45am -1:15pm, in the basement of the Science Library in Room 88.
  • Sundays – Thursdays, 7 – 10pm, in Exley 189 (the fishbowl).

The Math&CS department organizes this service in addition to the regular office hours of individual instructors, and complementary to the other tutoring programs offered by the University. Please let your students know about this additional resource. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions related to the Math Workshop.

Eco to Go for Students

This fall, you will be able to get your food in reUsable packaging from not only Summies but also Usdan Marketplace! Whenever you need to take food out from the dining hall, you’ll be able to use a durable takeout container that can be dropped off, cleaned, and put back into use. These containers have been linked to the reUser platform for quick drop-off and pick-up through the reUser mobile app.

You can download the reUser app from the Google Play or Apple App stores via the links below. Please make sure to sign up with your wesleyan.edu email.
